Master in Economics |
An important part of the tradition of Ljubljana's Faculty of Economics is the emphasis placed on economic theory in its academic programmes and research work. The master's programme in economics is designed to bring together all those that help create this tradition. This programme is grounded on fundamental, demanding courses in economics, while individual tracks allow students to specialize in one of four areas. The track in general economics is intended to produce classical specialists in macroeconomics, capable of working as national analysts or for example, journalists. Those aiming for management positions in business can enroll in the track in business economics. The track in public sector economics is intended to produce economists that have a precise familiarity with the economics of the most important parts of the public sector. Because this programme will also provide a great deal of methodological knowledge, it also includes a track for future specialists in operations research.
Programme Economics can be also part of Double degree programme. For students who want to spend part of their Master's studies at a foreign university there is a possibility to participate in a Double-Degree two-year Master's Programme jointly organized by:
- University of Ljubljana (UL)
- Norwegian School of Management (BI)
The Double-Degree Programme includes spending one year in the MSc Programme of the partner university and leads to obtaining a double Master's Degree, both from the home university (UL) and partner foreign university. Given high quality of Master's Programmes of partner universities this is an excellent entry point for ambitious students to international job market or an academic career.
